Security matters for you and your business. That's why we're introducing multi-factor authentication (MFA) as an extra layer of protection for all Rinkel accounts.
Starting today:
- MFA is required for all new subscribers
- Rolling out to all existing accounts over time
What is MFA?
MFA means logging in with your password plus a one-time code sent to you via:
- 📱 SMS (as a back-up option)
It's a quick extra step that significantly improves your account security.
Why we're doing this
If your account & business number(s) were to fall into the wrong hands, it could be used for spam or fraudulent calls made in your name.
That’s not just a hassle; it can damage your reputation or even result in blocked numbers.
MFA helps prevent that, and supports our commitment to ISO 27001 security standards.
With MFA, you:
- Keep control of your business number
- Prevent misuse or fraud
- Stay aligned with the highest security standards
- Help us maintain a safer platform for everyone
Already a Rinkel customer?
No worries, we’ll guide you through it.
- You’ll receive a pop-up when you try to sign in to My Rinkel when it’s time to activate MFA
- You’ll get a 14-day grace period to activate MFA
- After that, MFA will be required to log in. If it’s not set up, you’ll be temporarily logged out until activation
Some smaller app improvements
- We've improved the app experience for users with a lot of local contacts
- Improved readability of the call history & voicemail tabs for smaller screens
- Users with a desk phone can now quickly switch which device should ring for incoming calls
- As always, some bug fixes
